Who we are and what we do
Europe faces an urgent reskilling challenge that threatens its economic stability and productivity. The workforce is aging rapidly, with nearly 20% of employees in key industries like aerospace and defense aged 55 or older. Alarmingly, 40% of European adults lack basic digital skills, a critical barrier in the digital age. +50% of European companies consider skills shortage one of their most pressing problems to solve. Automation and the transition to a net-zero economy are reshaping the labour market, requiring up to 12 million occupational transitions by 2030, double the pre-pandemic pace.
Europe needs a massive reskilling of its workforce to secure a sustainable, inclusive and competitive economy. The European Commission has launched substantial eforts through the European Skills Agenda yet ‘Closing the skills gap’ remains a critical factor for European competitiveness. Collective, decisive action is needed to ensure the reskilling ecosystem is structured to train and secure job placements at the magnitude of scale required.
The New Career Network is a new digital platform that connects everyone in the reskilling ecosystem – jobseeker, trainer, employer) in a trusted network, using advanced algorithms and AI to propose trainings and in-demand job opportunities. Available in Portugal and Spain for now – plans for rollout in other countries are in development too.
